blackberry and kiwi pulp

Blackberry and Kiwi Pulp

The sun is shining today and I actual felt like juice this morning – happy days! I have been in a bit of a health food funk at the moment, and despite loving juice and smoothies, and finally acquiring a taste for salads, and knowing it’s good for me, I have just not been wanting to eat any of it! Hopefully the (slow but steady) arrival of spring will continue to inspire me.

My beloved juicer Oscar has been a little overused in his 4+ years of life in my house and I suspect I need to replace some of the parts that have worn down – not a bad run though for heavy, mostly daily use! That being said, there are situations in which the pulpy consistency of some fruit combinations are absolutely lush! (See my peach and kiwi pulp for another example). The only problem is, I still haven’t recreated it using a more widely available method, so I promise to do that soon.

Ingredients (all organic, of course!):

  • 4 ripe kiwi fruit – skin and all (except the hard end bits!)
  • 1 punnet blackberries
  • 3 large green apples
  • 1 cm ginger or to taste

Instructions:

Juice in a much-loved masticating juicer! Otherwise, juice the apple and ginger blend with the blackberries and kiwi fruit.
