Honestly, I can’t remember what day of the 30 day Wholefood Simply smoothie challenge we’re on but I’m loving it! A lot of ‘firsts’ for me: last week I smoothied vegetables that weren’t leafy greens (beet and celery) in one of my new favorite recipes ‘Make it Pink‘; today I made a smoothie with spirulina that I actually liked and I added ginger to a smoothie for the first time too. How very exciting?!
I haven’t been able to go to the market this week so there were slim pickings in the fridge this morning, and what I did have was very ‘ripe’ to say the least. Luckily ‘ripe’ doesn’t turn me off fruit these days – it’s amazing how going high-raw changed my tastes; I used to be an ‘eat it green and hard’ kind of girl now I embrace the soft, nutrient-richness of ripe :)
Anyhoo, I digress. I had good intentions to make Bianca’s ‘Rise and Shine‘ smoothie but didn’t have everything I needed – I was close though! So while you should definitely check out her recipe (I will make it properly soon), this is also a good variation in its own right.

Spirulina is amazing… I’m so excited to have a way to consume it that’s actually enjoyable now! How do you have yours??

Your smoothie sounds perfect! Never added celery but love the taste. Thank you for the inspiration!
Celery is new to me too but I’m finding it to be a good addition… check out the ‘Make it Pink’ link in the post too; Wholefood Simply got me on to it!
