Eeek! I was in a bit of a funk today, which was a little extra depressing given the last four days have been so wonderful. However, it’s reassuring to know that the juice fast wasn’t giving me any crazy kind of superpowers that resulted in all that energy I had : )
It may have also been due to the fact I spent 5 passive hours in a workshop and it was grey and rainy outside, and spread my first liter of juice over a few hours, sipping politely from a paper cup rather than gulping from my glass straw. I had a bit of an ache; not a headache per se but my body just felt tired; kind of like a phone that’s running low on batteries.
Luckily I was able to leave the office a bit early (right in the middle of Armageddon-style rain) and snuggle in my tracksuit pants and new favorite impromptu purchase at the gym /”I made it through Day 3 of my juice fast” sweater and finish up my work. I just had a bath and am going to treat myself to a movie and an early night. It’s a far cry from the outing I was supposed to attend at a dueling piano bar but I wasn’t up for dealing with that at all.
Detox-wise, I was feeling a little dehydrated despite the juice, coconut water and water I was drinking. Tyler suggests putting a bit of salt in your water when this happens to help it bind and be utilized properly so will start that tonight. Other people on the fast reported having very dry lips and skin, and while my hands a the teeniest bit papery, the rest of me is fine and I have been juicing and washing up a lot so wonder if that’s part of the problem with my hands…
Started off with oil pulling and lemon water, plus a wheat grass shot; then have had 2.5 liters of juice (finishing up another virgin mary for dinner as I type this), 1 liter of coconut water and 2 liters of water.
