life, raw: unprepared or imperfectly prepared for use… not in a polished, finished, or processed form. global adventures.nourishing practices xx
Sunday morning… bf at golf… hair treatment in, face mask on… tunes blasting… what to have for breakfast? Ice cream of course! I was planning on having this for dessert last night but was too full after dinner, and then I fell asleep on the couch watching a movie… ooops. I also wanted a good excuse to write a blog because my first Sunday chore is to remove all the aphids from our passion vine and I don’t want to!
Anyway, back to the ice cream. This is certainly not the first time I have had ice cream for breakfast or blended what started off being a meal of separate components into a single serve of ice cream, and it won’t be the last, and certainly not the last time I extol the virtues of raw vegan food – it’s so good for you, you can eat whatever you feel like, whenever you want it. Yay! Just how life should be right??
Instructions:
Put desired amount of raw vegan vanilla ice cream in a blender, add a few large chunks of brownie and small handful of raspberries and pulse until combined. ENJOY! It tastes kind of like black forest cake.

I like your vegan food tips. I tried to make a banana-walnut quick bread without eggs, and it didn’t turn out very well — any suggestions?
How do you do baking without eggs? — Caroline Hamilton
Hi Caroline – thanks for your note! I’m pleased someone finds my ramblings useful :)
The truth is, I don’t bake anything so have never tried to substitute eggs – I don’t use flours and am mostly raw (all raw when it comes to sweets, unless it’s a little bit of dairy-free dark chocolate in a pinch!). I dehydrate foods though and when I was craving banana bread I created a raw vegan recipe for it! You can find it here: http://wp.me/p1l8d3-bQ. There are a lot of vegan bakeries around now so I’m sure you could find a vegan baking cook book somewhere that will tell you how to go about it.
